Nassau is one of the most expensive counties in New York, and across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/08\/22\/us-cities-with-the-highest-cost-of-living.html\">the country<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Blakeman is largely insulated, he\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityandstateny.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/hempstead-staffers-alleged-bruce-blakeman-used-them-personal-chauffeurs\/185941\/\">chauffeured<\/a> in an SUV, doesn\u2019t have to pump or pay for gas, and likely didn\u2019t have to scale back his summer barbecues because of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/data-products\/food-price-outlook\/summary-findings\">14.8% increase in beef prices<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Blakeman <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/07\/us-news\/democratic-challenger-raps-nassau-county-executive-bruce-blakemans-support-of-trumps-tariffs\/\">supports Trump\u2019s tariffs<\/a> even though they are one of the main drivers of inflation, making goods and services more expensive.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Blakeman also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publicnow.com\/view\/CBA2F51E8287DCE80B7149E86BB647577CB4E727\">supports Trump\u2019s<\/a> healthcare <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advisory.com\/topics\/strategic-and-business-planning\/obbba-healthcare-impacts\">cuts<\/a> which are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanprogress.org\/article\/house-republicans-big-beautiful-bill-would-make-health-care-more-expensive-for-americans-with-medicare-and-other-insurance\/\">increasing health care costs <\/a>for <a href=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jhu.edu\/2025\/the-changes-coming-to-the-aca-medicaid-and-medicare\">everyone.<\/a>
